1Nothing is sent before you agree
On first launch a cover explains that 여백 is an AI and what is sent where. Nothing is sent until you tap 동의하고 일기장 펼치기 (agree and open the diary). 동의하지 않고 쓰기만 하기 (write without agreeing) opens the diary for writing only, and nothing is sent.
Before sending, 더 보기 (More) → 이 기기를 떠나는 내용 보기 (see what leaves this device) shows the exact picture and fields that would be sent, and you can choose not to send.
You can withdraw at any time in 더 보기 (More) → 이 일기 → AI 전송 동의 철회; after that nothing is sent until you agree again. What was already sent cannot be recalled from the app. Your choice is stored only on this iPhone, and the app asks again if what it sends ever changes.
2What is sent, and to whom
The app connects over HTTPS to one place only, the diary server, and never contacts the AI company directly. Sending happens only after you agree and only when you ask for a reply: when you tap 여백에게 묻기 (ask 여백), send a typed line, or pause writing while 여백이 스스로 답해요 (auto reply) is on.
Your handwriting or typed line
A PNG picture of only the part of the page you ask about (at most 1600 pixels and 1 MB) with its position on the page, or one typed line (up to 2,000 characters)
Recent exchanges
The last 3 exchanges for handwriting, the last 7 for typed lines (your earlier text as 여백 read it, and 여백’s replies)
Memory note
A short note the AI wrote in earlier replies and that is kept on this iPhone (at most 6 items per list, about 1,400 characters): what you have shared and what is still open
Fixed fields
The notebook title “여백의 일기”, the reply-style text (the same for everyone) and the request mode. None of this is personal.
The diary server adds its fixed instructions, sends everything to the external AI service Z.ai (GLM model) and streams Z.ai’s reply back to the app.
Your name, email, phone number, contacts, location, photos, device identifiers, the rest of the page, other pages and your settings are not sent. Requests carry no cookie and no user identifier.
3Processing on the server and by Z.ai
- The diary server’s code has no database and does not store handwriting, text, memory notes or replies. Each request is processed and then discarded.
- Server logs hold request metadata only, never content: a random request ID, the mode, status and error code, duration, token counts and estimated cost, retry count and the model name.
- The company hosting the server keeps access logs (IP address, time, requested path) under its own policy.
- To prevent abuse and excessive requests, the server turns the IP address into an unreadable value (a salted hash), keeps it in memory only and counts requests with it. This value is never stored or logged and is cleared within a day.
- How Z.ai processes and retains what it receives is governed by Z.ai’s own policy.
- The server’s hosting company and region, and the country where Z.ai processes data and how long it keeps it, will be added to this page as soon as they are confirmed, with a new effective date.
4What is stored on this iPhone
Your diary stays in the app’s storage on this iPhone. The developer never receives or sees it.
- The diary: strokes (ink), replies and typed lines, the memory note, pages
- Settings: auto reply, when to reply, clear the page after a reply, whether you have seen the cover and the preview, the last read position per page, your consent choice
- Whether the folded-reply tip was shown (no content)
5Permissions
The app asks for no camera, microphone, photos, location, contacts, notifications or tracking permission.
The light haptic taps (when sending, when a reply starts) follow the iPhone’s system haptics setting and need no permission.
The privacy policy and support pages open in a Safari view inside the app; the email link opens the Mail app.
6What the app does not do
- No account or sign-in.
- No ads.
- No tracking, and no App Tracking Transparency prompt.
- No usage statistics, analytics or crash-reporting tools.
- No in-app purchases.
7Retention and deletion
- Your diary stays on this iPhone until you delete it or delete the app.
- One page: 더 보기 (More) → 페이지 비우기 (clear page); you can undo until the app closes.
- One reply: delete it from that reply’s tools.
- Everything: 더 보기 (More) → 이 일기 → 이 기기의 일기 모두 지우기 (erase the diary on this device). It asks first and cannot be undone; the diary and settings are removed together.
- Touch and hold the app icon on the Home Screen, then tap Remove App → Delete App. The app and all of its data on this iPhone are removed.
- If you use iCloud Backup or a computer backup, iOS may include the app’s data in that backup. Backups are kept in your Apple Account or on your computer; the developer cannot see them.
- There is no account, so there is no account to delete. The developer holds no copy of your data, so deleted data cannot be restored.
8Diagnostics
Apple passes diagnostic information such as crash reports to the developer only if you turned on “Share With App Developers” in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements. Apple runs this feature and you can turn it off at any time. 여백 itself sends no diagnostic data.
9If you email us
Settings → 의견 보내기 (send feedback) in the app opens a new mail draft in your mail app. The draft includes the app version, the iOS version and the device model, and these reach the developer only if you choose to send the mail. When you write to sharepoint889@gmail.com, your address and message are stored in the developer’s Gmail inbox. They are used only to reply to you, are not shared with anyone, and are deleted on request.
10Children
여백 is a diary for a general audience and is not directed at children. It collects no identity data such as names or ages. A diary can hold personal things, so if you have a concern, write to sharepoint889@gmail.com.
11Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, this page is updated and the effective date above changes with it. If an update changes how the app handles information, this page is updated before that update is released.
Effective: 3 October 2026
