1About the service

These terms set out the conditions for using 법률 정보 AI (the “App”), an iPhone app provided by 애플페어 (Applepair, the “Publisher”).

This app is not legal advice. It gives general reference information about the law and does not replace a legal judgment, representation or advice from a lawyer on your specific matter. The Publisher is not a lawyer, and using the app does not create a lawyer-client relationship.

법률 정보 AI (Legal Information AI) uses AI to search statutes, court decisions and administrative rules in 국가법령정보센터 (Korea’s National Law Information Center) and gives general legal information with cited articles. You can type a question or upload a document and ask about it, and you can create draft documents such as certified-mail notices or contracts and save or share them as files. It covers Korean law only. There is no account, no ads and no in-app purchase, and conversation history is stored only on this iPhone.

By downloading or using the App you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2Conditions of use

  • The App is free.
  • Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement (Apple Standard EULA) also applies. If the two documents differ on the license itself, Apple’s agreement comes first.
  • You need an internet connection to get answers. On first launch a consent screen explains what is sent where; you must agree before you can ask a question.
  • It is a general legal-information tool and is not directed at children. The App Store age rating applies.
  • Personal data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

3Content you create

  • You own the content you write, record or upload in the App (“Content”). The Publisher does not claim ownership of it.
  • The Publisher handles Content only as needed to provide the App. What is stored and where it goes is described in the Privacy Policy.
  • You are responsible for making sure your Content does not break the law or infringe anyone’s rights.
  • Your questions, conversations and uploaded documents (PDF, DOCX, TXT) are your Content. Please black out other people’s personal or sensitive information before uploading, and do not upload documents you have no right to upload.
  • Conversation history is stored only on this iPhone and can be deleted one by one or all at once. Deleting the app deletes it, and the Publisher cannot restore it.

4AI features

  • Results the App’s AI creates or selects can be wrong or inaccurate. Checking and using the results is up to you.
  • AI results do not replace professional advice.
  • Only after you agree, your question, recent conversation and the text of uploaded documents are sent through the app’s server to an external AI service (Z.ai), which writes the answer. Search terms the AI chooses while answering are looked up in 국가법령정보센터 through a law-search server.
  • You can withdraw consent at any time from the app’s information screen. What was already sent cannot be recalled from the app.
  • Answers and draft documents may contain errors and have no legal effect. Check cited articles against the original text at 국가법령정보센터, and have a lawyer or other legal professional review any important decision or contract. If you are in immediate danger, call 112.
  • The Publisher claims no rights in answers or draft documents. You are responsible for how you use them.

6Prohibited conduct

Please do not:

  • hack, disassemble or modify the App, except where the law allows it
  • try to get around the App’s security or usage limits
  • break the law or infringe other people’s rights
  • impersonate the Publisher or anyone else
  • present the app’s answers or drafts to others as a lawyer’s legal advice
  • use the app to carry out illegal acts
  • send excessive requests or repeat requests by automated means

The Publisher may limit the number of requests to prevent abuse or excessive use.

7Intellectual property

  • Rights in the App and in its name, icon, screens, text, artwork and sounds belong to the Publisher or to their respective rights holders.
  • You may use the App for personal purposes. This right cannot be transferred to anyone else, and these terms grant no other rights.
  • Where the App uses components provided under open licenses, those parts follow their own licenses.
  • Statutes and court decisions are public materials provided by 국가법령정보센터; the original text of any article the app shows can be checked there.

8Changes to or end of the service

  • The App can change through updates, and features can be added or removed.
  • If the app’s server or an outside service it depends on (the AI service, the law-search server, 국가법령정보센터) stops, the app may be unavailable or limited.
  • Laws are amended, so what the app tells you may not be current.
  • If the Publisher decides to end the service, it will announce this on this page 30 days before. If it must stop at once for legal or safety reasons, it will stop first and announce afterwards.

9Limits of liability

  • The App is provided as it is. The Publisher does not guarantee that it will run without errors or interruption.
  • This app is not legal advice. To the extent the law allows, the Publisher is not liable for the results of decisions you make relying on the legal information in the app. Check your specific matter with a lawyer or other professional.
  • To the extent the law allows, the Publisher is not liable for indirect or special damages arising from use of the App. This limit does not apply to damage caused by the Publisher’s intent or gross negligence, and your rights under the law are not reduced by these terms.
  • Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for maintaining or supporting the App. Please direct questions about the App to the Publisher.
  • These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and disputes are handled by the court with jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act.

10Changes to these terms

  • If the terms change, this page is updated and the “Last updated” date changes.
  • Changed terms are announced on this page 7 days before they take effect, or 30 days before if the change is unfavourable to you.
  • If you do not agree to the changed terms, stop using the App. If you keep using it after they take effect, you are treated as agreeing.
  • If an update changes how the App handles information, the Privacy Policy is updated before that update is released.
