1About the service

These terms set out the conditions for using 여백 (the “App”), an iPhone app provided by 애플페어 (Applepair, the “Publisher”).

여백 (Yeobaek) is a diary you write by hand. When you write with your finger or the keyboard, 여백, an AI, writes a reply in its own handwriting. Your diary is stored only on this iPhone. There is no account, no ads and no in-app purchase.

By downloading or using the App you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2Conditions of use

  • The App is free.
  • Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement (Apple Standard EULA) also applies. If the two documents differ on the license itself, Apple’s agreement comes first.
  • You need an internet connection and your consent to get replies. On first launch the app tells you that 여백 is an AI and what is sent where; if you choose 동의하지 않고 쓰기만 하기 (write without agreeing), nothing is sent and you can still write.
  • It is a diary for a general audience and is not directed at children. The App Store age rating applies.
  • Personal data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

3Content you create

  • You own the content you write, record or upload in the App (“Content”). The Publisher does not claim ownership of it.
  • The Publisher handles Content only as needed to provide the App. What is stored and where it goes is described in the Privacy Policy.
  • You are responsible for making sure your Content does not break the law or infringe anyone’s rights.
  • Your diary (handwriting, typed lines, replies, memory notes) is stored only on this iPhone, and the Publisher cannot receive or see it. A diary can hold personal things, so please protect it yourself, for example with a device passcode.
  • 더 보기 (More) → 이 일기 (this diary) → 이 기기의 일기 모두 지우기 (erase the whole diary on this device) deletes the diary and settings and cannot be undone. Deleting the app also deletes everything. The Publisher keeps no copy and cannot restore it. Backups follow your iOS settings.

4AI features

  • Results the App’s AI creates or selects can be wrong or inaccurate. Checking and using the results is up to you.
  • AI results do not replace professional advice.
  • The replies are written by an AI. Only when you ask for a reply, and only after you agree, the part you asked about (a picture of the handwriting, or the typed text), a few lines of recent conversation and a short memory note are sent through the diary server to an external AI service (Z.ai).
  • Before sending you can check what will leave the device under 이 기기를 떠나는 내용 보기 (see what leaves this device), and you can withdraw consent at any time under 더 보기 → 이 일기. What was already sent cannot be recalled from the app.
  • 여백’s replies do not replace professional counselling, therapy, diagnosis or medical advice. If you are struggling, please reach out to someone close to you or a professional organisation, and call 112 or 119 in an emergency.
  • The Publisher claims no rights in 여백’s replies.

6Prohibited conduct

Please do not:

  • hack, disassemble or modify the App, except where the law allows it
  • try to get around the App’s security or usage limits
  • break the law or infringe other people’s rights
  • impersonate the Publisher or anyone else
  • deliberately try to make the AI produce illegal or harmful results
  • send excessive requests or try to get around the request limit

The Publisher may limit the number of requests to prevent abuse or excessive use.

7Intellectual property

  • Rights in the App and in its name, icon, screens, text, artwork and sounds belong to the Publisher or to their respective rights holders.
  • You may use the App for personal purposes. This right cannot be transferred to anyone else, and these terms grant no other rights.
  • Where the App uses components provided under open licenses, those parts follow their own licenses.
  • 여백’s name, icon and cover artwork were made by the Publisher. The app’s fonts are provided under an open license (SIL OFL) and follow that license.

8Changes to or end of the service

  • The App can change through updates, and features can be added or removed.
  • If the diary server or the external AI service stops, you cannot get replies. Diary entries already written stay on this iPhone.
  • If the Publisher decides to end the service, it will announce this on this page 30 days before. If it must stop at once for legal or safety reasons, it will stop first and announce afterwards.

9Limits of liability

  • The App is provided as it is. The Publisher does not guarantee that it will run without errors or interruption.
  • The diary exists only on this iPhone, so if you lose the device or delete the app it cannot be recovered.
  • To the extent the law allows, the Publisher is not liable for indirect or special damages arising from use of the App. This limit does not apply to damage caused by the Publisher’s intent or gross negligence, and your rights under the law are not reduced by these terms.
  • Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for maintaining or supporting the App. Please direct questions about the App to the Publisher.
  • These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and disputes are handled by the court with jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act.

10Changes to these terms

  • If the terms change, this page is updated and the “Last updated” date changes.
  • Changed terms are announced on this page 7 days before they take effect, or 30 days before if the change is unfavourable to you.
  • If you do not agree to the changed terms, stop using the App. If you keep using it after they take effect, you are treated as agreeing.
  • If an update changes how the App handles information, the Privacy Policy is updated before that update is released.
